Dissolve yeast with 1 teaspoon sugar in lukewarm water.
Sift flour with remaining sugar and salt; add eggs, milk, shortening and cooled yeast.
Mix. Turn dough onto floured board and knead.
Pinch off and roll into golf ball size balls; place in greased muffin pans.
Let rise (covered with light cloth).
Bake at 350Β° until golden brown.
Yields about 36 rolls.
