Golden Sausage Casserole
Golden Sausage Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. smoked sausage or polish sausage, sliced, 1 c. chopped onion, 1/2 medium head cabbage, shredded (about 5 c.), 1/2 c. water and 2 golden delicious apples, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Brown sausage in skillet; drain.
Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter until golden.
Add cabbage and water.
Cover and cook for 7 to 8 minutes; drain.
Core and chop 1 apple.
Combine with sausage and cabbage.
Turn into 1-quart casserole.
Core and slice remaining apple and arrange over casserole.
Combine brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, pepper and 1 tablespoon melted butter and pour over casserole.
Bake covered at 375Β° for 30 to 40 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
