Gingersnaps
Gingersnaps is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 20 minutes. Made with c. shortening, c. sugar, egg, c. molasses and c. all-purpose flour, unsifted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream the shortening.
Add sugar, egg and molasses.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture.
Chill at least 2 hours. (You may chill overnight or longer.)
Roll in balls the size of a small walnut.
Dip the tops of the balls in the 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon mixture and place about 3-inches apart on greased (sprayed) cookie sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375Β°.
