Gingersnaps
Gingersnaps is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1/4 c. sorghum molasses and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix shortening, sugar, egg and molasses together.
Sift and add to mixture the flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Mix well.
Shape into 1-inch balls.
Roll in sugar.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 375Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes approximately 5 dozen.
