Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. enriched all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 tsp. soda, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. ginger and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Sift flour once; measure and sift again with salt, soda and spices.
Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add beaten egg and molasses; mix well.
Add dry ingredients and hot water alternately.
Beat until smooth.
Start with dry ingredients and end with dry ingredients.
Pour into well-greased pan (10 x 14-inch).
Bake in preheated oven at 350Β° for 40 to 45 minutes.
