Gingerbread

Cream shortening; add sugar and cream again.
Add eggs and beat well.
Stir in the molasses.
Add dry ingredients alternately with hot water in which soda has been dissolved.
Bake at 350Β° in a 9 x 12 pan.
Remove from pan.
Cut in squares.
Serve with whipped cream.
