Ginger Cookies
Ginger Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 c. molasses, 1 egg, beaten, 1/2 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp. ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Bring shortening, sugar, molasses and vinegar to a boil. Cool; add egg.
Mix dry ingredients; add to hot mixture, mixing well.
Chill.
On a lightly floured surface, roll thin cookies, 1/8-inch.
Place on greased cookie sheet and bake 8 to 12 minutes at 375Β°.
Cool 5 minutes.
Frost and/or decorate.
Place in plastic bags and tie with ribbon.
Good to eat and/or to decorate Christmas tree.
