German Chocolate Upside-Down Cake
German Chocolate Upside-Down Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. pecans, 1 c. coconut, 1 box german chocolate cake mix, 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened and 4 1/2 c. powdered sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Butter a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
Sprinkle nuts and coconut over bottom of pan.
Prepare cake mix as directed on box.
Pour batter over nuts and coconut.
Blend cream cheese and sugar together.
Carefully stir in melted margarine and vanilla.
Beat until smooth.
Pour over top of cake batter.
Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 325Β°.
Leave pan over cake for a few minutes to allow topping to loosen from pan.
