Cream margarine, shortening and sugar together.
Beat in egg yolks.
Sift together cake flour and salt.
Stir in alternately with mixture of buttermilk and soda.

Bake 25 minutes at 350Β° in 3 greased, floured and wax paper lined 8-inch round layer pans. Cool on racks.
