German Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. (4 oz.) german chocolate, 1/2 c. boiling water, 2 sticks oleo, 2 c. sugar and 4 eggs, separated, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Melt chocolate in water and cool.
Cream oleo and sugar.
Beat in egg yolks.
Stir in vanilla and chocolate.
Mix flour, soda, salt.
Beat in flour mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into batter.
Pour batter into three 9-inch layer pans that is lined on bottom with waxed paper.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly pressed in center.
Cool 15 minutes.
Remove and place on racks.
