Fruitcake Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. shortening, 4 eggs (1 at a time), 3 tbsp. buttermilk and 1 tsp. soda to buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, mixing thoroughly.
Add milk and soda.
Sift flour, cinnamon and nutmeg with a pinch of salt.
Add to mixture.
Pour in wine; dredge fruits and fold into batter with nuts.
Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes in 300Β° oven.
