Fruit Drop Cookies
Fruit Drop Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. soft shortening, 2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed, 2 eggs, 1/2 c. buttermilk and 3 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Combine shortening, sugar and eggs and mix well.
Stir in buttermilk.
Combine flour, soda and salt and stir in.
Stir in pecans, cherries and dates.
Chill at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400Β°.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Place a pecan half on each cookie. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until almost no imprint remains when touched lightly with finger.
Makes 8 dozen.
