Fruit Cake
Fruit Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. butter, 3 c. sugar (save 1/2 c.), 3 c. all-purpose flour (save 1/3 c.), 8 eggs, separated and 1 lb. chopped nuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Beat in egg yolks. Mix mace with flour and add flour, whiskey, alternately.
Mix nuts and
1/3 cup flour then add to other mix.
Beat egg whites stiff; cup sugar.
Fold into cake batter. Bake in tube for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
Makes 2 tube cakes.
