Cut tomatoes in 1/4-inch slices.
Beat egg in bowl.
Add milk, salt and pepper.
Mix flour, meal or cracker crumbs and 1/2 teaspoon salt in second bowl.
Turn tomato slices over in egg mix, then in the flour mix.
Pan-fry in 1 cup vegetable oil at 350Β°. Brown on both sides.
Drain excess fat on paper towel.
