Fried Fruit Pies
Fried Fruit Pies is an easy dinner. Made with 5 c. all-purpose flour, 2 eggs and enough water to make 2 c. liquid, 1 c. crisco, 1/4 c. sugar (may use only 2 tbsp.) and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cut Crisco into flour, sugar and salt.
Break eggs into 2-cup measuring cup.
Beat slightly with fork and add enough water to make 2 cups liquid.
Mix into flour mixture and form into ball. Roll out on lightly floured board, real thin. Cut around a saucer or etc.
Place ample amount of fruit on dough round.
Moisten edges, fold over and seal with fork.
Prick pie with fork 2 to 3 times to prevent air.
Heat Crisco in skillet over medium heat and fry until golden brown, turning only once.
Use dried apples or peaches, cooked and sweetened.
