Fried Cheese Meltaways is an moderately easy dinner. Made with vegetable oil, 1 c. bisquick, 1/2 c. milk, 1 egg and 1 lb. monterey jack, cheddar, american, swiss or mozzarella cheese, cut into 3/4-inch cubes, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Heat oil (2 inches deep) to 375Β°.
Beat 1 cup Bisquick, milk and egg until smooth.
Coat cheese cubes lightly with Bisquick. Insert a round toothpick in each cheese cube; dip into batter, covering cheese completely.
Fry several cubes at a time, turning carefully, until golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes.
Drain on paper towel.
