Cut the cabbage very fine.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Stir well and let stand for 5 minutes. Drop lard onto a hot iron kettle; then the cabbage, stirring briskly until cabbage is quite tender.
Add cream and remove kettle from the fire.
Then stir in cider vinegar.
