Put sliced berries into pie shell.
Mash 1 cup berries in saucepan.
Add sugar and cornstarch; mix.
On medium heat, stir and cook until thick.
Cool to lukewarm.
Pour over berries in pie shell.
Refrigerate.
Spread with Cool Whip.
