French Toast Casserole
French Toast Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 large italian loaf (1 lb.) or round sourdough bread, 12 eggs, 3 c. milk, 1 c. sugar and 4 tbsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cut loaf into 1-inch cubes. Place into sprayed 9 x 12 baking dish. Whisk eggs in a bowl. Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and syrup; whisk again. Add milk and whisk again. Cover bread with chosen fruit (optional).
Pour egg mixture over the bread cubes and fruit (if used). Be sure to cover ALL pieces. Allow to soak overnight. Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with warm syrup.
