Combine shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg in bowl, mixing well.
Sift next 4 ingredients together.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.
Bake at 350Β° for 20 to 25 minutes. Dip immediately in melted butter and then in mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.
