French Onion Soup
French Onion Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 to 2 lb. onions, 1 tbsp. brown sugar, 3 tbsp. flour, 2 tbsp. oil and 2 tbsp. butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Saute onions in butter and oil for 20 minutes.
Add flour, salt, pepper, sugar and broth.
Simmer for 20 minutes or longer. Cut bread into wedges.
Sprinkle garlic, paprika and oregano on. Put under broiler 1 to 2 minutes until brown.
Fill bowl with soup, add bread and top with cheese.
Put under broiler or in microwave 30 seconds to one minute.
Serves 4 to 6.
