French Breakfast Puffs
French Breakfast Puffs is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1/3 c. shortening, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In a medium bowl, cream together 1/2 cup of the sugar, the shortening and the egg; sift together flour, baking powder, salt and the nutmeg.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Fill greased muffin pan 2/3 full.
Bake in a 350Β° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
Combine remaining 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon on a medium size plate. Remove puffs from oven and immediately dip each into melted butter, then into cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Coat all over.
Serve warm.
