Frances' Brownies

Cream shortening and margarine combination with granulated sugar; add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Mix together the flour, cocoa and salt; add to the creamed mixture and blend well.
Add the vanilla; blend and add nuts, blending slightly.
Pour into a greased and floured 8 x 8-inch pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
Cool completely before cutting.
