Foundation Or Plain Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour (plain will do), 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/3 c. shortening and 3/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cream the shortening; add sugar and cream until fluffy.
Add eggs, then dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla a small amount at a time.
Beat after each addition.
Pour into greased pans.
Bake in moderate oven (350Β°) for 25 minutes.
Makes two 8-inch layers. Frost as desired.
Good with Chocolate Frosting.
