Foolproof Pie Crust
Foolproof Pie Crust is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour (lightly spooned into cup), 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. salt, 1 3/4 c. shortening (not refrigerated, not oil or lard, margarine or butter) and 1/2 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
In large bowl, stir together with fork flour, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening until crumbly.
In small bowl, beat together water, vinegar flour mixture and stir until all ingredients are moistened.
Divide dough in 5 portions and shape each in flat round patty ready for rolling.
Wax paper and chill 1/2 hour. When you are ready to use, lightly flour both sides of patty roll on pastry sheet.
Bake in preheated oven at 450Β° for 12 to
15 minutes.
(You can prevent soggy bottom crust by baking pie on lowest specified temperature in preheated oven.)
