Figgy Nut Pie
Figgy Nut Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. cooked figs, 1 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. lemon juice, 1/2 tsp. allspice and 1 can flaky biscuits, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Pick 3 quarts (leave some on bush for birds, bees and other insects) of fresh figs.
Remove stems and thick skin.
Mash up a bit.
Add sugar and lemon juice and allspice.
Bring to a boil and cook until figs are transparent, 7 minutes (stir constantly). Grease an 11 x 14-inch pan.
Pull apart the layers of the biscuits, put a layer of biscuits, spoon fig mixture over biscuits, make another layer of biscuits and another layer of figs.
Add nuts on top and bake at 375Β° for 20 minutes.
Serve warm with ice cream.
