Festive Fruit Compote is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 can (17 oz.) pear halves, 1 can (30 oz.) apricot halves, 1 can (17 oz.) purple plums, drained, 1 tsp. grated lemon peel and 2 tbsp. lemon juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Drain pears, reserving 1/2 c. syrup.
Drain apricot syrup into large sauce pan; add pear syrup.
Stir in sugar, lemon peel, juice and cinnamon stick.
Bring to a boil; simmer gently for 5 mintues. Add pears, apricots and plums; heat throughly.
Serve compote warm or chilled.
