Favorite Christmas Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. butter, 6 egg yolks, 1 lb. sifted cake flour and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cream together butter and sugar.
Beat in egg yolks.
Add dry ingredients, flour, salt and baking powder alternately with 1/2 cup whiskey.
Stir in white raisins and nuts.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
Turn into well-greased and sugared Bundt or angel food pan.
Bake in preheated 300Β° oven for approximately 2 hours.
Cool, remove from pan.
Wrap cake in cheesecloth wet with additional whiskey.
