Famous Amos Delightful Double-Decker is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (18.25 oz.) devil's food cake mix, 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1 (18.25 oz.) white cake mix, 1 c. powdered chocolate drink mix and 1 1/2 c. heavy cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Prepare cake layers
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Grease 13 x 9 x 2-inch cake pan.
Prepare batter for devil's food cake as directed, but using 1 egg, 1/2 cup oil and no water.
Pat evenly into prepared pan.
Bake 15 to 18 minutes until dry to touch.
Remove pan from oven and sprinkle hot crust with chocolate chips.
Let stand 2 or 3 minutes.
Smooth melted chips thinly over first layer. Prepare white cake according to package directions, beating in drink mix.
Pour over crust.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Beat cream and powdered sugar until stiff.
Spread on cake.
Decorate with cocoa powder and nuts.
