Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, mixing well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine milk, extract and orange rind; set aside.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Beat 3 minutes on medium speed of an electric mixer.
Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Pour Orange Glaze over warm cake, spreading evenly.
Cut cake into squares to serve. Yield
