English Trifle
English Trifle is an easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yellow cake mix, cooked, 1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries, 1 pkg. vanilla pudding, prepared, 1 pkg. whipped topping (13 1/2 oz.) and 1/4 slivered almonds, toasted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bake cake in oblong pan according to directions on box.
This only uses half the cake (you can find someone baking on the same day and share).
Break 1/4 of the cake into large pieces and place in a 2-quart serving bowl.
Pour half the thawed strawberries over the cake.
Spread with half of prepared pudding.
Repeat layers. Chill at least 8 hours.
Right before serving, spread whipped topping on top and sprinkle with almonds.
Spoon into dessert dishes to serve.
