English Taffy Cookies
English Taffy Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, 1 c. sugar, yolk of 1 egg (save the white), 1 tsp. vanilla and 2 c. flour (plain), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream together butter or margarine and sugar.
Add egg yolk and vanilla.
Add flour; mix well.
Usually I wash hands very well, then mix dough with your hands; it is easier.
Grease a cookie sheet (large) and pat dough very thin.
Whip the egg white with a fork until frothy.
Spread on top of dough with your hand. Sprinkle with 1 cup chopped pecans.
Pat slightly to press pecans down a little.
Bake at 300Β° for approximately 40 to 45 minutes. Cut at once in squares or rectangles.
