English Muffins
English Muffins is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 1 1/2 c. warm water, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded and 1/4 c. shortening, melted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Dissolve dry yeast in the warm water.
Combine sugar, milk, shortening and salt in bowl and mix well.
Stir in 3 cups of flour; beat until smooth.
Add remaining flour; knead until smooth.
Place in a greased bowl, turning once so the greased side faces upward.
Let rise 1 hour to double.
Punch down and turn onto floured board.
Roll dough out and cut in 3-inch circles with cutter; transfer to heavy greased skillet.
Let rise to double. Bake in 350Β° oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
