Em's Chocolate Cake
Em'S Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. cocoa, 1 c. hot water, 2 c. flour, 2 c. sugar and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cook the 1/2 cup cocoa and hot water until thick and cool. Sift the flour, sugar, salt and baking soda together into a large mixing bowl.
Mix the buttermilk, oil and eggs in a small bowl, then pour into dry ingredients. Add the vanilla and cocoa mixture. Stir with a large whisk.
Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan or two 8 x 8 x 2-inch pans. Bake at 325Β° for 40 minutes. Freezes well.
