Mix butter or margarine and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.

Mix well.

Add flour mixture, eggs and vanilla to sugar mixture.

Mix well.

Add peanut butter.

Place by teaspoonfuls several inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Flatten with fork.

Bake in a preheated 350Β° oven 12 to 15 minutes.

Makes 5 1/2 dozen.
