Edna Cake
Edna Cake is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 4 minutes. Made with c. shortening, c. sugar, c. sifted cake flour and large eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add 2 eggs, one at a time alternately with flour until all ingredients have been mixed. Preheat oven to 350°.
Grease and flour tube pan.
Bake 50 minutes at 350°, then increase heat to 400° for remaining ten minutes.
Do not open oven during baking time.
Let cool in pan 20 minutes. Turn top side up on plate.
