Easy Fudge Cookies
Easy Fudge Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 sq. unsweetened chocolate, 1/4 c. shortening, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg, beaten and 1/4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
In a medium saucepan, over very low heat, melt chocolate and shortening.
Remove from heat and add sugar, egg, flour, salt and vanilla.
Stir well.
Pour into a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan and sprinkle with chopped nuts, if desired.
Bake in a preheated 400Β° oven for 12 minutes or until cookies test done. Remove from oven; cool in pan and then cut into 2-inch squares. Makes approximately 16 squares.
