Easy Filled Cookies
Easy Filled Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. soft shortening, 2 c. brown sugar, packed, 2 eggs, 1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk and 3 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Mix shortening, brown sugar and eggs thoroughly. Stir in milk. Sift flour and measure, then add soda and salt; sift again. Stir into preceding mixture. Chill at least 1 hour.
Heat oven to 400Β°. Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Place 1/2 teaspoon of date filling on top of dough and drop an additional small teaspoon of dough on top of filling. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
