East Arkansas Cheese Straws
East Arkansas Cheese Straws is an easy dinner. Made with 1/4 lb. butter, softened, 2 scant c. flour, cayenne pepper, salt to taste and 1/2 lb. cheddar cheese, grated, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
👨🍳 Instructions
Place butter in mixing bowl and sift flour over butter.
Work flour and butter with fingers until it reaches the consistency of cornmeal.
Add grated cheese, work until a smooth consistency is reached.
Put in spritz gun cookie press with star shaped template. Extrude onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in slow oven, about 250° to 275° until dry throughout.
Do not let cheese straws brown.
