Start heating oven to 350Β°.

Sift flour with baking powder and salt.

With hand beater or electric mixer, beat eggs at medium speed, gradually adding sugar.

Stir in melted butter and flour mixture, blending well.

Pour 1/4 batter into small bowl.

Blend in coconut and almond extract.

Blend chocolate into remaining batter.

Spread mixture into a well-greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan. Spread coconut batter onto chocolate mixture.

Bake 35 minutes or until done.

Cool and cut into squares.

Makes about 2 dozen.
