Dole Golden Layer Cake
Dole Golden Layer Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in juice, 1 (8 oz.) carton cool whip, thawed, 1 (4 serving size) pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix, 1 (16 oz.) pound cake and 1/2 c. almond-flavored liqueur or 1/3 c. pineapple juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Combine undrained pineapple, whipped topping (Cool Whip) and pudding mix.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Cut cake lengthwise in "thirds".
Drizzle with liqueur.
Spread on one-third pudding mixture over bottom layer of cake.
Top with second layer. Repeat, ending with pudding.
Chill 30 minutes.
Sprinkle with toasted, sliced almonds.
Serves around 12 people.
