Dill Pickles
Dill Pickles is an moderately easy dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 12 minutes. Made with cucumbers, ice water, onion slices or clove of garlic, dill (fresh or dried) and c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Soak cucumbers in ice water 3 or 4 hours.
Drain.
Slice or cut into strips.
Place in sterilized jars, along with onion and a generous amount of dill.
Combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt and bring to a boil.
Pour over pickles and seal.
Store in 70° to 75° temperature until cucumbers look transparent, about 3 weeks. Makes 3 pints.
