Devil's Food Cookies
Devil'S Food Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter flavored crisco, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 3/4 c. flour and 1/2 c. cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Beat well after each egg.
Combine the next 4 ingredients; mix well. Add to the creamed mixture; beat well.
Add flavor; mix well. (The dough will be stiff.)
Chill dough for 30 minutes; shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on oiled cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes at 350Β°.
Remove from oven and place 1/2 marshmallow on top of cookies; return to oven for 3 minutes.
Cool on wire rack; frost with Chocolate Icing.
Yields 3 1/2 dozen.
