Devil's Food Cake
Devil'S Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. cocoa, 1 1/3 c. sugar, 1 1/4 c. milk, 2/3 c. shortening and 2 c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift cocoa with 1/3 cup sugar.
Add milk gradually and stir until smooth.
Combine shortening, salt and vanilla.
Add 1 cup sugar gradually and cream thoroughly.
Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each egg.
Add soda to flour and sift 3 times.
Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with cocoa mixture, mixing after each addition until smooth.
Pour into 2 (9-inch) layer pans.
Bake in a 350Β° oven for 25 minutes.
