Devil's Food Cake
Devil'S Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sifted flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1/4 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 c. cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift together first 4 ingredients.
Mix cocoa and hot coffee; set aside. Cream Crisco and sugar; add eggs, slightly beaten. Add flour mixture and cocoa mixture alternately to sifted ingredients and beat well. Pour into large flat cake pan that has been greased and lightly floured.
Bake 45 to 55 minutes at 350Β°. Test with toothpick.
