Devil's Food Cake
Devil'S Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted cake flour, 1 tsp. soda, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. crisco and 1 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Sift flour once; measure and add soda and salt.
Sift together 3 times.
Cream Crisco thoroughly.
Add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Melt chocolate and blend into egg mixture. Add flour alternately with milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth.
Add vanilla.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes in two 9-inch cake pans at 350° to 375°.
Cool and frost with White Icing.
