Delicious Southern Biscuits
Delicious Southern Biscuits is an easy dinner. Made with 3 c. self-rising flour, 3/4 c. cold lard (must be cold), 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder and 1 c. plus 1/4 (as needed) buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Combine self-rising flour and cold lard.
Add baking powder. Cut in until mealy.
Add buttermilk.
Let stand for 5 minutes. Flour your counter or tabletop and roll biscuit mixture into a ball.
Knead gently 8 to 12 times.
Roll out and cut about 1/2 inch thick.
Melt a cup of butter and dip each cut biscuit into the butter.
Place on a baking sheet and bake at 400Β° about 10 minutes or until brown.
