Deep Dish Apple Pie

Cut apples into thin slices.
Place in baking dish or a deep pie plate.
Sprinkle with mixture of sugar, salt and cinnamon. Pour water over filling and dot with butter.
Roll pastry to 1/8 inch thickness and place over apples.
Bake in hot oven (450°) for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350° and bake 40 to 50 minutes, until apples are tender.
