Decadent Chocolate Cake
Decadent Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. chocolate cake mix with pudding, 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided, 1 jar apricot preserves, 1/2 c. apricot brandy and 3/4 c. sour cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Prepare cake mix according to directions, stirring in 1 cup chocolate chips.
Pour batter into 2 greased and floured cake pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes or until tests done.
Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove and let cool completely.
Brush brandy over layers.
Allow to stand until brandy is absorbed.
Spread preserves in between layers.
Place remaining chips in top of double boiler.
Bring water to boil.
Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts completely.
Remove from heat; stir in sour cream, blending well.
Spread on top layer of cake only.
Garnish top with mandarin orange sections.
