Date Sticks
Date Sticks is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sifted flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tbsp. melted butter, 1/2 c. nut meats, broken and 2 c. dates, pitted and finely cut, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift flour once; add baking powder and salt gradually to eggs; add butter.
Beat in dates and nuts.
Add flour alternately with hot water, beating well.
Divide mixture into two greased pans, 8 x 8 x 2-inches, spreading batter thin.
Bake in slow oven, 325Β°, for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool; cut in strips, 2 3/4 x 1-inch. Remove from pans and roll in powdered sugar.
